How to export into DXF format a list of points and their attributes from an Excel file. Here are the steps, basically it is cut and paste and save. Open your Excel file and select the list of points you want to convert into a graphical DXF file: With the clipboard paste the selection into Pointor: You will be asked to choose the format of the data you are pasting: The raw data is on the bottom left of the above dialog, the data which you'd get with the format settings you have selected is shown bottom right. Once you initially have the data in Pointor... ...you might like to change the text and symbol sizes to get a better view and DXF file. Use the options dialog to do that: Now you can really see the distribution of your data and save it to a DXF file by using the File menu. You can try the demo version free of charge simply by downloading here (no forms to fill in, no email address requests to type!). Just download and go! As one of our customers said: "This program is ideal for our need of taking points from an Excel spreadsheet which calculates the surface of a camshaft profile to a *.dxf". The program is designed for use on Windows XP, Vista and 7. If you have some point data you would like to view in Pointor, but are you unsure as to which format to try please contact me. |

After appalling technical support from my credit card handler Verifone I've decided to stop selling Pointor. It may become available as charityware. (c)
